Required Trainings & Background Checks
Anyone who plans to be on the field during practices or games —
including managers, coaches, volunteers, and board members — must complete the
requirements below before the season begins.
Please pay special attention to the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training,
which is new this year.
Required Trainings
1. Sudden Cardiac Arrest Training
- One-time certification
- Email your completion certificate to the Coaches Coordinator and Safety Officer
- If already completed and on file, no action is needed
2. Diamond Leader Training
- One-time certification
- Complete through Little League
- Email your completion certificate to the Coaches Coordinator and Safety Officer

3. Child Abuse Awareness Training
- Required every spring
- Create an account, then navigate to Education → Courses
- Select “Abuse Awareness Training for Adults”
- Email your completion certificate to the Coaches Coordinator and Safety Officer
4. Concussion Training (CDC Heads Up)
- One-time certification
- Email your completion certificate to the Coaches Coordinator and Safety Officer
- If already completed and on file, no action is needed
Background Checks
JD Palatin Background Check (Annual Requirement)
- Required every year for all volunteers
- If registered on the PLL website, the email will be sent automatically
- Watch for an email from JD Palatin
LiveScan Background Check (CAPS and Above)
- Required in addition to JD Palatin
- If previously completed for PLL, no need to repeat
- LiveScans completed for other organizations do not transfer

If you cannot attend, you may complete your LiveScan at:

no cost.
Submitting Certificates
- Please email all completion certificates together in one email
- Send to the Coaches Coordinator and Safety Officer
- This helps prevent inbox overload and speeds up approval
