Rookies Division Amended Rules

General Rules

  • During the game only the manager and three coaches are allowed in the dugout.
  • An offensive coach will pitch.
  • A defensive coach will serve as the umpire.
  • A coach or manager must be in the dugout at all times during a game.
  • All managers and coaches must wear close-toed shoes on fields at all times.
  • A Safety Baseball (Tee Ball) will be used.
  • Games will be 5 innings or 90 minutes, whichever occurs first. No inning shall start after 75 minutes.
  • There is no score keeping. Rookies is a purely instructional division and score shall not be kept.
  • Bases shall be 60’ apart.

Offensive Play

  • The batting order shall be continuous and without substitution.
  • The offensive team will continue to bat until either the defensive team gets three outs or the offensive team scores four runs.
  • There are no walks, strikeouts, bases awarded for hit by pitch, nor bunting.
  • The batter and runners can advance one base on balls hit to the infield and two bases on balls hit into the outfield.
  • Base runners cannot lead off, steal, nor advance on overthrows.
  • There is no infield fly rule.
